TotalEnergies and Surinamese state authorities have convened to assess operational momentum on the deepwater Block 58 oil development. The major offshore undertaking is being executed in partnership with Suriname's Staatsolie and APA Corporation. Recent bilateral discussions confirmed that the development remains aligned with established milestones.

The upstream venture entails a capital outlay of approximately $12.2 billion to commercialize deepwater resources off the coast of Suriname. Project schedules anticipate the launch of offshore drilling operations in 2027. Following the drilling phase, the consortium expects to achieve initial crude production in 2028.

Logistical groundwork for the offshore development is actively underway at domestic port facilities. Heavy industrial parts and large-scale production components are currently being gathered at the Kuldipsingh Port Facility. This staging process supports the upcoming marine installation and offshore mobilization required for the field.

The high-level talks between TotalEnergies representatives and domestic officials focused on monitoring execution progress and maintaining project momentum. Regular coordination ensures strategic alignment between the international operators and the host government. Block 58 represents a foundational asset for the expansion of Suriname's offshore energy sector.

With offshore drilling targeted for 2027, the operating partners are prioritizing shorebase readiness and infrastructure preparation. The continuous arrival of equipment at port facilities marks concrete progress toward subsea execution. TotalEnergies, APA, and Staatsolie continue to guide the deepwater asset toward its 2028 startup timeline.
