Petrobras Secures 20-Year US LNG Supply Deal With Sempra Infrastructure
Brazil's state energy firm Petrobras has finalized a 20-year agreement to purchase liquefied natural gas from Sempra Infrastructure's Texas export development.

Brazilian state-owned energy firm Petrobras has reached a long-term commercial arrangement with Sempra Infrastructure to procure liquefied natural gas from the United States. Under the terms of the bilateral transaction, the energy company will receive LNG volumes over a period spanning two decades. The arrangement establishes a long-range supply channel between the Brazilian enterprise and North American export infrastructure.
The contracted LNG volumes are scheduled to originate from an export project currently under development in the state of Texas. Sempra Infrastructure is advancing the facility within Jefferson County to support international natural gas shipments. This commercial commitment aligns the terminal's development phase with committed long-term cargo off-take.
Under the finalized transaction, Sempra Infrastructure will serve as the supplying entity for the Brazilian company. The developer conducts its operational and commercial activities as a subsidiary of Sempra. This structure enables the parent entity's infrastructure arm to execute multi-decade delivery agreements with global commodity buyers.
The twenty-year duration of the commitment establishes an extended horizon for energy flows between the two commercial entities. Petrobras has structured the transaction to secure sustained access to North American liquefied natural gas. Such multi-decade arrangements provide operational visibility for both the facility developer and the receiving party.
Progress at the Jefferson County development site remains the foundation for fulfilling the newly concluded delivery terms. As the Texas project moves forward, the supply contract designates Petrobras as a long-term recipient of the facility's production. The agreement reflects ongoing cross-border commercial alignment in the global liquefied natural gas market.
