Everllence Tests 12-Cylinder 175DF-M Dual-Fuel Methanol Engine

Everllence has commenced full-scale operational testing of its 175DF-M dual-fuel methanol engine. The trials involve a 12-cylinder configuration of the power unit. According to the company, the testing program is taking place at its dedicated Test and Research Center in Frederikshavn, Denmark.

This development represents the initial full-scale test campaign for the 12-cylinder dual-fuel machinery. Everllence confirmed that the testing series has validated the engine's performance parameters in diesel mode. The program builds upon earlier research into the dual-fuel methanol propulsion concept.

The full-scale evaluations follow preliminary development work carried out on a single-cylinder test stand. Everllence completed that optimization phase for the 175DF-M concept in 2025. The transition to a complete 12-cylinder engine marks the next phase in evaluating the dual-fuel system under working conditions.

Research and validation activities remain centered at the testing complex in Frederikshavn. Everllence is using the Danish site to verify multi-cylinder operating characteristics for the 175DF-M platform. The ongoing campaign evaluates the unit's mechanical response across required operational modes.

Everllence reported that the full-scale trials have demonstrated successful operation for the 12-cylinder machinery. The campaign extends the technical baseline established during the 2025 single-cylinder bench trials. Work continues at the research center to assess the dual-fuel methanol architecture.
