Alkavex Strengthens Chinese Steel Sourcing Networks with Industrial Corridor Tour
Alkagesta's steel trading venture Alkavex has conducted commercial meetings across Tangshan and Tianjin to reinforce its China-to-Africa supply operations.

Alkavex, the dedicated steel trading arm of Alkagesta, has completed a series of commercial development visits across key industrial centers in northern China. The engagements took place in Tangshan and Tianjin, focusing on building ties with manufacturing, processing, and trading entities. These activities form an integral part of the company's broader effort to expand procurement partnerships and commercial reach within the country.
The delegation was led by Bayram Bayramli, who manages China business development for Alkagesta. Throughout the mission, discussions were held with primary steel producers, downstream processing facilities, and regional industry associations. These meetings yielded direct evaluations of local manufacturing capabilities, supply chain infrastructure, and cross-border trade potential.
Together, Tangshan and Tianjin comprise one of China's most critical industrial hubs for steel manufacturing and outbound export logistics. Engaging directly with counterparties across this corridor has reinforced the operational relationships underpinning the firm's sourcing activities. The strategic access provided by this network supports consistent procurement channels for international distribution.
Alkavex is structured as a Malta-based joint venture between Alkagesta and Navex SAS, an established French steel trading firm. Alkagesta retains the majority ownership position in the corporate partnership. The venture unites the commercial resources and sector-specific capabilities of both shareholder organizations.
The joint venture's core trading portfolio focuses on semi-finished and finished steel products primarily sourced from Chinese suppliers. Alkavex markets and delivers these materials to buyers located across West and East Africa. These outbound supply flows cater directly to growing regional demand in the construction, manufacturing, and infrastructure sectors.
In addition to physical product sourcing, the business integrates specialized market intelligence, shipping logistics, and trade finance mechanisms to support its client base. This end-to-end framework enables the company to manage complex supply lines between Asian production hubs and developing African end-markets. The recent corridor tour serves to solidify the foundational sourcing network required for these ongoing commercial flows.
