Alkagesta Secures Membership in Swiss Trading Association Suissenégoce
The energy and bulk commodity merchant has joined Switzerland's primary international trade organization as it expands its global network.

Global commodity merchant Alkagesta has officially become a member of Suissenégoce, the industry association representing Switzerland's international trading sector. The Geneva-headquartered organization acts as the central representative body for the country's extensive commodity trading, shipping, and trade finance cluster. Alkagesta specializes in physical flows of refined petroleum products, fertilizers, and biofuels.
The accession integrates Alkagesta into a collective of more than 190 member enterprises operating across global supply chains and related professional services. As part of its affiliation, the firm will take part in the association's working groups, industry conferences, and training programs. Suissenégoce actively promotes regulatory compliance, governance standards, and sustainable trade development among participants in the Swiss commercial ecosystem.
Established in Malta in 2018, Alkagesta has developed an international footprint that includes 17 offices and representative hubs worldwide. The privately held trading house conducts commercial activity across 42 countries and employs over 150 professionals. Alongside its core energy and fertilizer business, the company selectively executes spot trades in petrochemicals, metals, and agricultural products.
The merchant currently oversees annual physical commodity volumes exceeding 7 million metric tons. To support its logistics operations, Alkagesta utilizes more than 700,000 cubic meters of dedicated storage capacity distributed across key locations in Europe and Asia. The company maintains commercial relationships with 28 international banking institutions to support its liquidity and transaction financing requirements.
Switzerland continues to serve as a pivotal European center for international physical trade management, marine freight contracting, and structured trade finance. Alkagesta stated that its entry into Suissenégoce will facilitate closer engagement with peer trading houses, financial partners, and policy stakeholders. The engagement aligns with the firm's broader strategy to expand industry partnerships and enhance transparency across its supply networks.
