Alkagesta Highlights SAF Trading and Logistics Strategy at London Summit
Alkagesta delegates engaged with energy executives and aviation leaders at the SAF Global Summit 2026 to discuss compliance frameworks, trading corridors, and pipeline distribution.

Alkagesta attended the SAF Global Summit 2026, held in London from 22 to 23 September. The commercial conference brought together more than 1,000 senior representatives spanning airlines, fuel producers, original equipment manufacturers, institutional investors, and regulatory bodies. Business Development Manager Alex Yusifli and Operations Manager Alasgar Guliyev represented the commodities firm across the two-day agenda.
Discussions throughout the event focused heavily on regulatory frameworks providing investment clarity, including the UK SAF Mandate, ReFuelEU, and the US Inflation Reduction Act. Industry participants addressed projected supply shortages heading toward 2030, examining strategies around project finance, airline offtake agreements, and non-food feedstock diversification. European price discovery, physical availability constraints, and downstream distribution economics were also evaluated by market participants.
Upstream raw material sourcing and logistics formed another major focus, specifically the collection and preprocessing infrastructure required for non-food feedstocks. Delegates explored the development of international trade corridors connecting refining centres to major bunkering hubs. In addition, the broadening adoption of book-and-claim accounting frameworks was examined as an operational solution for preserving transaction transparency across fragmented supply chains.
The summit highlighted the primary role of the European refining network in converting bio-based feedstocks into commercial-scale volumes of alternative aviation fuel. In alignment with these market requirements, Alkagesta holds accreditations under both the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification system and the CORSIA framework. These credentials authorize the firm to trade and deliver compliant aviation fuels across various international compliance jurisdictions.
The trading house has also expanded its carbon market operations by securing access to EU Emissions Trading System allowances to serve broader emissions compliance obligations. Furthermore, Alkagesta obtained access to the NATO Central Europe Pipeline System earlier in 2026, allowing the company to supply blended sustainable aviation fuel directly into airline supply channels. These logistical and regulatory integrations underpin the firm's expanding focus on certified renewable fuels in European and global markets.
