Alkagesta Awarded EcoVadis Committed Badge for Sustainable Business Practices
The independent sustainability rating recognises the commodity trading house's performance across environment, labour, ethics and sustainable procurement.

Alkagesta, the commodity trading house with operations spanning biofuels, fertilizers, jet fuel and carbon markets, has been awarded the EcoVadis Committed Badge in recognition of its commitment to responsible and sustainable business practices across its global trading operations.
EcoVadis is one of the world's most trusted providers of business sustainability ratings, assessing companies across four pillars: environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Its assessments are evidence-based, weighing documented policies, reporting and transparency against internationally recognised sustainability standards. Earning the Committed Badge reflects Alkagesta's ESG commitments in practice and establishes a framework for continued improvement across the areas the rating measures.
The recognition sits alongside a broader sustainability portfolio. The company holds ISCC and CORSIA certification for sustainable aviation fuel trading, has added EU ETS allowances to its carbon markets offering, and backs environmental research initiatives such as the Clean Caspian programme, which is developing formulants for oil-spill remediation.
Orkhan Rustamov, CEO of Alkagesta, commented: "Receiving the EcoVadis Committed Badge reflects the work being done across Alkagesta to embed responsible business practices into how we operate — not as a separate agenda, but as part of how we run the business day to day. As a company trading commodities that sit at the heart of the global economy, we take seriously our responsibility to operate with integrity and transparency. We see this as a foundation to build on, and we will continue to raise our standards across the areas EcoVadis measures."
The Committed Badge is EcoVadis' entry-level recognition, signalling that a company has demonstrable sustainability management in place, with the option of progressing toward scored medals that benchmark performance against industry peers. For a trading firm whose desks move physical energy and agricultural commodities, the rating offers counterparties an independent reference point when weighing governance and environmental risk.
The priorities behind the award echo those Rustamov set out in a recent leadership and strategy interview, where he framed disciplined growth and transparent operations as the foundations of the group's expansion.
Further announcements from the company are published through Alkagesta's newsroom.
